What to Expect at Your First Appointment

A wooden desk with a black closed laptop, a white notepad with a pen, four white books stacked, a small vase with a purple flower, and a white table lamp against a plain wall.

1. Tell me what's been going on
We'll talk about your current symptoms, mental health history, medications, previous treatment, and what you'd like help with.

2. We'll look at the bigger picture
I'll ask questions to better understand what's contributing to your symptoms and discuss possible diagnoses and treatment options.

3. We'll create a treatment plan together
If medication is appropriate, we'll discuss the available options, including potential benefits and side effects, and decide on a plan that fits your goals.

4. We'll follow up and adjust as needed
Your first appointment is the beginning—not the end—of the process. We'll monitor how you're doing and make adjustments when needed.

Not sure exactly what you need? That's okay. You don't need to know your diagnosis or which medication you should take before scheduling. That's something we can figure out together.

How it works

Life is stressful enough right now. Let me make this part as easy as possible.

Our first appointment will take approximately 60-90 minutes. Follow up appointments last approximately 30 minutes. I accept most major commercial insurance and self-pay.
